What WakeMATE does
WakeMATE is a mobile app that discovers a computer on your local network, sends it a Wake-on-LAN signal, and — once it's online — sends authenticated control commands to WakeMATE Companion, a small desktop app running on that computer.
What we collect
WakeMATE does not require an account and does not send your personal information to our servers. The app stores the following only on your own device:
- The devices you save (name, MAC address, IP address).
- Your Companion's network address and pairing token.
- App preferences, such as trackpad sensitivity.
What WakeMATE Companion stores locally
On the computer side, WakeMATE Companion keeps its configuration in your operating system's app-data folder, including its device name, pairing token, and which remote features (discovery, input control, power control) are switched on. None of this leaves your computer.
Network behavior
- By default, remote access on the Companion is switched off.
- By default, network discovery on the Companion is switched off.
- When you enable remote access, the app and Companion communicate directly over your local Wi-Fi network using a pairing token — not over the public internet.
Sharing
We do not sell or share your information with third parties.
Your choices
- Disable remote access or discovery in the Companion's config at any time.
- Rotate your pairing token from the Companion's tray menu.
- Delete a saved device, or all of them, directly in the app.
- Uninstall either app at any time.
